The men's javelin at the 1946 European Athletics Championships was held on August 25, 1946 in the Bislett Stadium in the Norwegian capital, Oslo .

In this discipline there were two medals for Finland with silver and bronze. European champion was the Swede Lennart Atterwall . Second place went to Yrjö Nikkanen ahead of Tapio Rautavaara .
