The shot put men at the 1946 European Athletics Championships was on August 23, 1946 at Bislett Stadium in the Norwegian capital Oslo held.

Icelander Gunnar Huseby became European champion . Second place went to Dmitri Goryainov from the USSR. The Finn Yrjö Lehtilä won the bronze medal.
