Līna Mūze (born December 4, 1992 in Smiltene ) is a Latvian javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Līna Mūze gained her first international experience in 2009 at the World Youth Championships in Bressanone , where she finished sixth with a width of 50.36 m. The following year she took part in the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , where she won the silver medal with 56.64 m, as well as the 2011 European Junior Championships in Tallinn with 55.83 m. In 2012 she reached the final at her first European Championships in Helsinki , where she finished tenth with 55.60 m. This also qualified her for the Olympic Games in London , where she did not reach the final with 59.91 m . In 2013 she won the U23 European Championships in Tampere with 58.61 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Championships in Moscow with 60.29 m, as well as at the 2014 European Championships in Zurich with 53.42 m.

In 2015 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Gwangju , where she won the silver medal behind Belarusian Tazzjana Chaladowitsch with a throw at 60.26 m . The following year she was eliminated from the European Championships in Amsterdam without a valid attempt in qualification and so also missed the re-participation in the Olympic Games. She also took part in the European Championships in Berlin in 2018 , but was eliminated from the qualification there with 53.95 m, as was the case at the 2019 World Championships in Doha , where 55.66 m were not enough for a final .

In 2013 Mūze became the Latvian javelin throwing champion.
