Victor Petrus Keuppens OFM (born December 15, 1902 in Turnhout , Belgium , † October 11, 1981 ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Kolwezi .

Life

Victor Petrus Keuppens joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 8 September 1928, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 25, 1950, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Acmonia and Apostolic Vicar of Lulua . The Archbishop of Mechelen , Cardinal Jozef-Ernest Van Roey , donated him episcopal ordination on September 21 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Kisantu , Alphonse Verwimp SJ , and the Vicar Apostolic of Lac Albert , Alphonse Joseph Matthijsen MAfr .

Victor Petrus Keuppens became on November 10, 1959 as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate Lulua to the diocese and its renaming first bishop of Kamina. Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 11, 1971 first bishop of Kolwezi. On April 25, 1974 Paul VI. the resignation submitted by Keuppens.

Keuppens attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
