Julian Fischer

Julian Fischer (born November 20, 1991 in Bremen ) is a German jazz musician ( guitarist , composition ).

Julian Fischer held a guitar in his hands for the first time when he was eight years old. He learned classical guitar and took part in competitions such as Jugend Musiziert at an early age, until he was interested in jazz music at the age of 14. In 2011 he was a fellow at the Berlee College of Music in Massachusetts. In 2012 he released his debut CD Stay (Berthold Records) with Dirk Piezunka, Peter Schwebs and Ralf Jackowski.

He regularly appears in a duo with trumpeter Uli Beckerhoff and in his current quartet with Richard Brenner, Moritz Götzen and Niklas Walter. In 2019 the quartet's album Diversity (Dot Time Records) was released. He also works in the duo project Doglance with the drummer Nathan Ott , in the trio SA.FT with Reza Askari and Oliver Spanuth, as well as with Christophe Schweizer , Riccardo del Fra , Tilman Oberbeck and Gabriel Coburger , among others .
