The Diocese of Kamina ( lat. : Dioecesis Kaminaensis ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kamina .
history
The diocese of Kamina was founded on July 18, 1922 by Pope Pius XI. established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Kasaï Superiore as Apostolic Prefecture Lulua e Katanga Centrale . On February 26, 1934, the Apostolic Prefecture Lulua e Katanga Centrale gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Apostolic Vicariate Boma . The Apostolic Prefecture Lulua e Katanga was founded on February 26, 1934 by Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Libenti animo raised to the Apostolic Vicariate . On July 8, 1948, the Vicariate Apostolic Lulua e Katanga Centrale gave parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Lac Moero . The Apostolic Vicariate Lulua e Katanga Centrale was renamed on July 8, 1948 in Apostolic Vicariate Lulua .
On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Lulua was by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the apostolic constitution Cum parvulum and renamed the diocese of Kamina . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi as a suffragan . The Diocese of Kamina gave on March 11, 1971 parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Kolwezi .
