The Roman Catholic Diocese of Boma ( Latin Dioecesis Bomaensis , French Diocèse de Boma ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Boma .

history

The diocese of Boma was on February 26, 1934 by Pope Pius XI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Maiori catholicae from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Prefecture Lulua and Central Katanga and the Apostolic Vicariate Léopoldville as Apostolic Vicariate Boma . On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Boma was by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum raised to the diocese. The diocese of Boma is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kinshasa as a suffragan .
