Jozef Vanderhoven

Jozef Vanderhoven CICM (born November 5, 1888 in Liège , Belgium , † December 4, 1949 in Leuven ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic Vicar Apostolic of Boma .

Life

Jozef Vanderhoven joined the religious order of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1909 and made his first profession on September 8, 1910 . Vanderhoven studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Sint-Truiden . He received on 14 September 1913, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 26, 1934, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the titular of Sinna and for the first Vicar Apostolic of Boma. The Bishop of Liège , Louis-Joseph Kerkhofs , donated him episcopal ordination on May 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Tournai , Gastone Antonio Rasneur , and the Coadjutor Bishop of Namur , Paul Justin Cawet .
