Petra Münzel

Petra Münzel (born May 27, 1955 in Miltenberg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

After graduating from high school, Münzel studied to become a teacher at primary and secondary schools in Würzburg . She then became a primary and secondary school teacher in Miltenberg and Obernburg . She was also a member of the Sparkasse's Board of Directors for six years.

In 1991 Münzel became a member of the Greens after she had already been a district councilor in 1990. In 2002 she became a city councilor in Erlenbach am Main . From 1994 to 2003 she sat in the Bavarian state parliament , where she was the animal welfare officer and women's and educational policy spokesperson for the parliamentary group.

She is married to Wolfgang Münzel , multiple German champion in mountain running.
