The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kilwa-Kasenga ( lat. : Dioecesis Kilvaensis-Kasengaensis ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kilwa .

history

The diocese Kilwa-Kasenga was on July 8, 1948 by Pope Pius XII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution in Congo Belgico from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Lulua e Katanga Centrale as Apostolic Prefecture Lac Moero .

On August 24, 1962 the Apostolic Prefecture Lac Moero was by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Candida Christi raised to the diocese and renamed the Diocese of Kilwa . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi as a suffragan . The Diocese of Kilwa gave on April 24, 1971 parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Manono . On August 4, 1977, the Diocese of Kilwa was renamed the Diocese of Kilwa-Kasenga .
