Sinta Ozoliņa-Kovala (born February 26, 1988 in Riga , Latvian SSR , USSR ) is a Latvian javelin thrower .

Athletic career

In 2006 she was sixth at the Junior World Championships in Beijing , and in 2007 she won silver at the Junior European Championships in Hengelo . In 2008 she finished eleventh at the Beijing Olympics . At the European Championships in Barcelona in 2010 and at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, she was eliminated from the qualification.

In 2012 she was sixth at the European Championships in Helsinki , but did not get past the first round again at the Olympic Games in London . In 2014 she finished eleventh at the European Championships in Zurich and in 2015 seventh at the World Championships in Beijing . In 2016 she was eliminated from the European Championships in Amsterdam as 14th of the qualification, as well as at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

On May 30, 2013, she set a Latvian record with 64.38 m in Riga , which was later improved by Madara Palameika .

She is married to the javelin thrower Ainārs Kovals .
