Ornella Ferrara (born April 17, 1968 in Limbiate ) is an Italian long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .

In 1994 she was fourth at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki . She took part in three athletics world championships. She achieved her best result by winning the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 in a time of 2:30:11 h. She finished fifth in Athens in 1997 and fourteenth in Edmonton in 2001 . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , she finished 13th, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney 18th.

In addition, she was successful in various city marathons. In 1994 she won the Venice Marathon (2:32:16 h) and in 1997 the Maratona d'Italia (2:28:43 h). With her victories at the Rome Marathon 2004 in 2:27:49 h and at the Brescia Marathon 2008 in 2:34:47 h, she was able to improve the respective course records. She achieved other noteworthy results, among other places, with second places in the Turin Marathon 1997 and the Prague Marathon 2004, as well as third places in the New York City Marathon 1997 and the Berlin Marathon 2003.

Ornella Ferrara is 1.55 m tall and has a competition weight of 42 kg.
