Limbiate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 35,186 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy . The municipality belonged to the province of Milan until 2004 and has been part of the newly created province of Monza and Brianza since then.

The municipality is located about ten kilometers north of Milan and about ten kilometers west of Monza on Strada Statale 527. The Lambro flows west of the municipality . Parts of the municipality belong to the Parco delle Groane .

The amusement park città satellite , created in 1964/65, has been closed since 2002; a planned reopening for EXPO 2015 in Milan did not materialize. Guided tours of the closed park were offered for the first time in 2017.
