Sulbiate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4363 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 14 kilometers northwest of Monza on the Parco Rio Vallone and borders directly on the province of Lecco .

history

In 998 the place Sebeate is mentioned, whose name changed into Subiate until the 13th century and later, from the 16th century, into Sulbiate . The churches of St. Ambrose and St. Antonius, built on old foundations, are worth seeing. The Castello Lampugnani was built in the 15th century; However, it is hardly preserved. The latter also applies to the 18th century Villa Baraggia .
