Bernareggio is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 11,285 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 12 kilometers northeast of Monza , about 26 kilometers northeast of Milan and about 21 kilometers west-southwest of Bergamo . Bernareggio borders directly on the province of Lecco .
history
In ancient times, a Roman road led through the municipality, so that settlement does not seem unlikely. The origins of today's community go back to the 10th century.

Bernareggio maintains partnerships with the North Rhine-Westphalian municipality of Wachtberg (Germany) and with the French municipality of Canton La Villedieu-du-Clain in the Vienne department .
