Carnate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7496 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy . It is located about 10.5 kilometers northeast of Monza and about 25 kilometers northeast of Milan . Carnate borders directly on the province of Lecco .

Together with the neighboring municipality of Usmate Velate , the Carnate-Usmate train station exists on the routes from Lecco to Milan and from Seregno to Bergamo .
