Ritva Lemettine Melender
Ritva Lemettinen-Melender (born September 9, 1960 ) is a Finnish long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .
At the marathon of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , she finished 14th, at the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart, 18th. In the same year she became Finnish champion in the 10,000 meter run .
In 1991 she won the Honolulu Marathon , in 1993 and 1995 the Chicago Marathon , in 1994 she was second in the Rotterdam Marathon , and in 1995 she set the current Finnish record as third in the London Marathon with 2:28:00 h.
In 2005 she won the Helsinki Marathon for the third time after 1988 and 1989 .
