NGC 3853 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E4 in Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 145 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 3828 .
The property was discovered by Alphonse Borrelly in 1871 .
