NGC 3833 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 267 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 110,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3819 , NGC 3822 , NGC 3825 , NGC 3848 , among others .
The object was discovered on April 15, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
