NGC 3835 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 114 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3796 and NGC 3809 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 14, 1831 .
