NGC 3829 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active galaxy core of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 257 million ly. From the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 75,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 3824 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 14, 1789 .
