NGC 3849 = IC 730 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 266 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years across.
The object was discovered on February 11, 1878 by the American astronomer David Peck Todd .
