IC 739 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 313 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3951 and IC 744 , among others .
The object was discovered on April 19, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
