IC 738 is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Irr in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 111 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3915 and IC 741 .
The object was discovered on June 3, 1893 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
