IC 738 is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Irr in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 111 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3915 and IC 741 .

The object was discovered on June 3, 1893 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
