IC 758 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated that 62 million light-years from the Milky Way away and has a diameter of about 35,000 light years.
Together with NGC 4041 , NGC 4036 , UGC 7009 and UGC 7019 it forms the LGG 266 - Group of galaxies .
The type IIP supernova SN 1999bg was observed here.
The object was discovered on April 17, 1888 by the astronomer Lewis Swift .
