IC 768 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 177 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 75,000 ly. It is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 38 .

The object was discovered on April 1, 1892 by Stéphane Javelle .
