Life
He studied composition with Georgi Catoire , Reinhold Glière and Nikolai Mjaskowski and piano with Alexander Goldenweiser at the Moscow Conservatory until 1929/30 . During this time he was one of the founding members of the student composer group Prokoll from 1925 to 1928 , the aim of which was to write revolutionary mass songs. After completing his studies, Fere first worked for radio and for the Musgis publishing house . In 1934 he was sent to the Far East in the service of the Red Army . From 1936 to 1944 he worked in the Kyrgyz SSR on a cultural and political level . He directed the Philharmonic in what was then Frunze and was one of the pioneers of classical Kyrgyz music. Together with his Moscow colleague Vladimir Vlasov , often in a trio with his student Abdylas Maldybajew , Fere created numerous operas, musical dramas and ballets that were based on melodies from local folk music and processed them into Western European genres; so emerged in the collective u. a. “Lied operas” such as Ajčurek - die Mondschönheit (1939), a work that is considered the first Kyrgyz opera. The trio Fere-Vlasow-Maldybayew also wrote the music for the anthem of the Kyrgyz SSR. In 1945 Fere went back and from then on taught at the Moscow Conservatory, from 1962 as a professor. In addition to Maldybayev, his students included composers such as Alexander Wustin, Dmitri Smirnow , Mukan Tulebajew, Mukasch Abdrajew , Sagir Ismagilow, Sijadullo Schachidi and Sharofiddin Saifiddinow.
