Vladimir Alexandrovich Vlasov

Vladimir Alexandrovich Vlasov ( Russian Владимир Александрович Власов * December 25, 1902 . Jul / 7. January  1903 greg. In Moscow , †  7. September 1986 ) was a Russian composer.

Vlasow studied violin with Abram Jampolski and composition with Georgi Catoire and Nikolai Schiljajew at the Moscow Conservatory until 1929 . From 1926 to 1936 he was a composer and conductor at the Moscow Art Theater МХАТ 2 . From 1936 to 1942 he directed the Kyrgyz National Opera in Frunze . Together with Abdylas Maldybajew and Wladimir Fere he is considered the founder of classical Kyrgyz opera and ballet music. From 1943 to 1949 he worked as conductor and artistic director of the Moscow Philharmonic.

In addition to twelve operas and seven ballets, most of which he wrote together with Fere, he composed an operetta, three symphonic poems, two orchestral overtures, a suite for strings, two cello concertos, chamber music works, oratorios, cantatas, songs and plays.
