IC 781 is a lenticular  dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 59 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 20,000 ly. The galaxy is listed as a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster under catalog number VVC 389 . 
The galaxies NGC 4254 , NGC 4262 , NGC 4298 , NGC 4302 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on May 10, 1888 by Guillaume Bigourdan .
