The NGC-4410 group is an interacting group of galaxies in the constellation Virgo . The group is about 100 Mpc away and is similar in some respects to the Stephans Quintet and HCG 16 . At the western end of the elongated group connected by tidal arms are NGC 4410A and NGC 4410B , an interacting pair of galaxies whose nuclei are separated by about 20 arc seconds and which is also cataloged as Mrk 1325 .
The galaxy pair NGC 4410A / B was discovered as a nebula by John Herschel on January 18, 1828 and later found its way into the NGC as NGC 4410 . On January 1, 1965, Chavira discovered the supernova SN 1965A in NGC 4410B .
