NGC 4430 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Virgo in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 62 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter . She is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 1002 . The galaxies NGC 4423 , NGC 4432 , NGC 4453 , IC 3414 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered on April 13, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with a 47.5 cm telescope.
