NGC 4454 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 103 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on April 17, 1784 .
