NGC 4464 is a dwarf galaxy from the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 53 million light years from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years across. She is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 1178 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4465 , NGC 4467 , NGC 4470 , NGC 4472 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on December 28, 1785 .
