IC 792 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 276 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VCC 973 as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster .

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4405 , IC 788 , IC 3368 , IC 3369 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 19, 1893 .
