The 5.79 ha large nature reserve Imsee located in the municipality Palting in the district Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria and stands since 2007 under nature protection .

The Imsee, located in the nature reserve, was created in a dead ice hole on the eastern edge of the Ice Age Salzach Glacier . Today it is surrounded by agricultural land, partly also by forest.

The village of Imsee lies to the southwest, and Bergham , a village of Lochen am See , lies to the east. To the west runs the state road L 505 and flows the Mattig .

The Imsee is privately owned, it offers a special variety of rare birds and plants.
