IC 711 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 437 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies IC 708 , IC 709 , IC 712 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on May 11, 1890 .
