IC 696 is a spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble type SBdm in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 277 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 698 , IC 2850 , IC 2857 , IC 2867 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Rudolf Spitaler on March 31, 1892 .
