NGC 3649 = IC 682 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 192 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3646 and NGC 3650 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 15, 1784 .
