NGC 3658 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 92 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
Together with NGC 3648 , NGC 3652 , NGC 3665 , PGC 35039 , PGC 35080 and PGC 35124 , it forms the NGC 3665 galaxy group .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 23, 1789 .
