NGC 3666 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 43 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 2792 , IC 2797 , IC 2807 , IC 2812 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 15, 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel with his 18.7-inch telescope .
