IC 2797 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 922 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 3666 , IC 2792 , IC 2795 , IC 2807 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 27, 1906 by the German astronomer Max Wolf .
