IC 2799 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 506 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across.
The galaxies IC 2785 , IC 2786 , IC 2787 , IC 2819 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on March 27, 1906 by the German astronomer Max Wolf .
