NGC 3691 is a faint , spiral-shaped dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type SB / P in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 45 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 20,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3681 , NGC 3684 , NGC 3686 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 14, 1784 .
