NGC 3695 = NGC 3698 is a merging bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 462 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 125,000 light years

The object was discovered on March 31, 1867 by Robert Stawell Ball (listed as NGC 3695 ) and on March 18, 1876 by Johan Ludvig Emil Dreyer (listed as NGC 3698 ). Robert Ball used William Parson's telescope, the " Leviathan of Parsonstown " , for his discovery .
