NGC 3720 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 260 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 75,000 ly. Together with NGC 3719 , it forms a bound pair of galaxies.
The type II supernova SN 2002at was observed here.
The object was discovered on March 15, 1866 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
