NGC 3745 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB (s) 0-: in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic , which is an estimated 421 million light years from the Milky Way .

The galaxy NCG 3745 forms together with NGC 3746 , NGC 3748 , NGC 3750 , NGC 3751 , NGC 3753 and NGC 3754 the galaxy group Arp 320 and complements the galaxy PGC 36010 the Hickson Compact Group (HCG) 57. Halton Arp structured his catalog in a more unusual way Galaxies in groups according to purely morphological criteria. This group of galaxies belongs to the class of galaxies .

The galaxy was discovered on April 5, 1874 by the British astronomer Ralph Copeland .
