Arp 7 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB (rs) bc in the constellation Hydra . It is about 237 million light years from the Milky Way .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of spiral galaxies with split arms .
