Arp 11 = UGC 717 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Pisces . It is about 520 million light years from the Milky Way . Together with UGC 719 , it presumably forms an interacting pair of galaxies . The property MCG + 02-04-04 is also visually close to UGC 717.
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of spiral galaxies with split arms .
