NGC 6365 is an interacting galaxy pair consisting of two spiral galaxies (NGC 6365A and NGC 6365B ) in the constellation Dragon , which is listed in the New General Catalog . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class spiral galaxies with a pronounced arm (Arp catalog) , the pronounced arm in this case being a galaxy.
The pair of galaxies was discovered as a nebula in 1884 by the astronomer Lewis Swift with a 16-inch telescope.
