NGC 6389 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Hercules, approximately 146 million light-years from the Milky Way 's center. In NGC 6389 two supernovae have been observed so far: SN 1999ab and SN 2000m .
NGC 6389 was discovered on June 29, 1799 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
